For this month’s spotlight, we are celebrating the 10th-anniversary of a roll handling and film wrapping system manufactured for a pulp & paper mill in the Southeastern United States.
The Challenge
Ten years ago, our customer was presented with an opportunity to sell their paper materials internationally. To capitalize on the opportunity, they needed a roll wrapping solution that would protect their paper rolls during shipping and transport overseas. They had two simple goals. One, maintain production efficiency. Two, maintain paper roll integrity as a result of international shipping.</p
Our Solution
The customer turned to Automatic Handling for our expertise in designing and manufacturing roll wrapping solutions. Our team quickly went to work identifying the customer’s requirements, specifications, and facility constraints.
Once we understood the full picture, our mechanical engineering team collaborated with the customer to create a solution. Our solution integrated into their existing production line to save space, save time, and complete the roll wrapping in stride. After the solution was approved by the client, we put our processes and capabilities to work to deliver a fully tested, automatic film wrapping system.
The Results
During its 10 years of 24/7 operations, the roll wrapping system continues to perform well and requires very little maintenance. As a result of the efficiency gained, the customer has continued to expand its international customer base.
